The Marshall Acton III sedentary speaker resembles its predecessor, the Acton II, with its characteristic leatherette covering (here brown), its gold physical buttons and its acoustic grille. Just like the previous model, this reference is not intended to be carried everywhere since it weighs 2.85 kg; it will remain comfortably installed on a piece of furniture, especially since it is plugged into the mains and does not include a battery. Once properly installed, the Marshall Acton III can connect to two devices simultaneously thanks to Bluetooth 5.2 and its multipoint function. This model is also equipped with a 3.5mm jack port so it can be used with headphones, for example.

In the bowels of the beast, we also find a 30 W amplifier for the woofers as well as two 15 Watt amplifiers for the tweeters whose inclination allows a widening of the stereophonic scene; As a result, the sound is more homogeneous, and the brand also promises rumbling bass and very clear highs. The Dynamic Loudness function allows you to adjust the tonal balance of the sound to have the clearest sound possible, whatever the volume chosen, while the “Placement compensation” function takes into account reflective surfaces, such as walls, to limit the resonance effect.

A headset with rare autonomy

The second centerpiece of this pack, the Marshall Major V wireless headphones also have a very recognizable design with their charcoal color enhanced with a touch of white for the Marshall logo on each earpiece and its gold power button. This is also a supra-aural headset, the headphones of which therefore do not encompass the ears, but which simply sit on top of them. Rest assured, it remains very comfortable and pleasant to wear, in particular thanks to the flexibility of its headband and its reasonable weight of 186 g.

The Marshall Major V features a Bluetooth 5.3 controller that supports Bluetooth Audio LE technology. It is also equipped with energetic transducers, which produce powerful sound from bass to treble, but unfortunately with too much emphasis in the high-mid frequencies, which can distort voices. The dynamic margin is on the average side, because the integrated amp gives pride of place to autonomy more than performance. On the other hand, note that if you listen to rock, the experience is unsurprisingly quite attractive. Finally, let's move on to the Major V's real strong point: its endurance. The headset simply offers around a hundred hours of battery life, if the volume is moderate! For charging time (with USB-C or induction charger), allow around 3 hours.
