The Michel Jr. Lévesque Royal Canadian Legion of Rivière-Rouge and the Vétérans des Laurentides group invite citizens who wish to commemorate the Armistice by participating in the Remembrance Day ceremony, to come on Monday, November 11, at 10:30 a.m. at Michel Jr. Lévesque beach, at 298, rue de la Plage in Rivière-Rouge, Sainte-Véronique sector.
Note that Michel Jr. Lévesque, from the Sainte-Véronique sector, died at the age of 25 on November 17, 2007 in Afghanistan after the vehicle in which he was traveling, with colleagues, exploded while driving over a homemade mine.
The president of the Royal Canadian Legion branch 277, Stéphane Van, announced last year, during the unveiling of the monument in honor of Private Lévesque at Lake Tibériade, that he would take steps to open a branch of the Royal Canadian Legion in soldier’s name. Something done last July.
Nominingue
Those wishing to commemorate in the Nominingue area, although no official ceremony will take place, please go to the village station at 10:30 a.m.
