After the murder of Thomas in Crépol in 2023, this rugby club mourns the disappearance of Nicolas, a 22-year-old young man fatally injured in a shooting which broke out in a nightclub near Valence on Thursday evening.
A young man seriously injured by bullets during a shooting in front of a nightclub near Valence on the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1, 2024 has died, the Privas prosecutor's office said on Saturday (Ardèche). “He died early in the afternoon” on Saturday, deputy prosecutor Charlotte Cerna told AFP.
Aged 22, the young man from Romans-sur-Isère was shot in the head and transported in absolute emergency to the Valence hospital center with a life-threatening prognosis. Two other people, more lightly injured, remain hospitalized, said Charlotte Cerna, adding that the investigation “continues” and has not given rise to any arrests at this stage.
The RC Romans-Péage rugby club says it was “touched to the heart again on Thursday evening”. Again, because in 2023, the club mourned the death of Thomas, a 16-year-old high school student who was killed in a knife fight after a village ball in Crépol (Drôme).
“A city bruised by this new tragedy”
The shooting, which is believed to be linked to drug trafficking, broke out around 2:30 a.m. Friday in the parking lot of a nightclub in Saint-Péray (Ardèche), west of Valence, according to a police source. According to the first elements of the investigation, the perpetrator of the shots was dressed in black and had his face hidden under a hood. He fired a handgun before fleeing.
“#Nicolas is no more,” reacted the mayor of Romans-sur-Isère Marie-Hélène Thoraval on “, she lamented.
