It was around 2:40 a.m. on the night of Thursday October 31 to Friday November 1, when the police were alerted for shootings near the night establishment “Le Seven”, in Saint-Peray, just outside exit Valence, Ardèche side. According to the Privas prosecutor's office in charge of this case, an individual with a hidden face fired several shots from the parking lot, towards the queue, at the entrance to the nightclub.
Dispatched to the scene, police and firefighters found three injured: a 22-year-old man slightly injured by shrapnel, a 25-year-old woman with a bullet in the leg, and above all a 22-year-old man with a bullet in the head. head. All three were transported to Valencia hospital, the last city in a state of absolute emergency.
This Saturday the Privas prosecutor's office announced that the young man hit in the head died from his injuries. It was a young rugby player named Nicolas, who came to spend Halloween evening with friends. His club, RC Romans-Péage, already affected by the death of Thomas in Crépol in 2023, paid tribute to him on social networks.
According to a police source, the nightclub was full at the time of the incident for a special Halloween evening which the police put an end to. The police had to remove more than 800 people while trying to maintain calm to avoid any panic.
The investigation was entrusted to the Organized and Specialized Crime Division (formerly Judicial Police) of Valencia. The perpetrator of the shooting is still actively sought.
