Hezbollah rocket injures 19 people in central Israel

A rocket fired from Lebanon hit the Israeli town of Tira overnight from Friday to Saturday, injuring 19 people. This attack, claimed by the Islamist movement Hezbollah, is the latest in a conflict which continues to extend from the Gaza Strip to Lebanon.

The Israeli Foreign Ministry published images on X of a partially destroyed building, lit by the flames of the explosion. According to the ministry, this direct strike hit a residential building in this Arab Israeli town, located about 25 km northeast of Tel Aviv. Police confirmed that of the 19 injured people hospitalized, four have moderate injuries, while the others have minor injuries.

The Israeli army said it had intercepted several projectiles launched from Lebanon during the same night, identifying three shots aimed at central Israel. Clashes are increasing as Israel has been carrying out airstrikes against Hezbollah positions in southern Lebanon since September 23, in an attempt to neutralize this Shiite militia, an ally of Palestinian Hamas, and to guarantee the security of the border region. .

These rocket attacks are the latest in a series of attacks that have already hit Israeli cities. On Thursday, a similar bombing killed seven people in Metula, in northern Israel, including four Thai agricultural workers.

As the conflict enters its second month, tensions remain high and the humanitarian situation is deteriorating, both in northern Israel and southern Lebanon, where thousands of civilians continue to flee combat zones.
