This is not the first time that Rillieux-la-Pape has given the Rhône prefecture a hard time.
In response to two consecutive nights of urban violence, the authorities are mobilizing CRS reinforcements for the entire weekend alongside the national and municipal police.
The objective is to restore calm because the violence escalated further on Friday evening. Following Thursday's trash and car fires and the four arrests of minors, followed the ambush of two stoned TCL buses which were then set on fire. Police officers were also targeted and a civil servant was injured in the face by a projectile.
The prefect delegated to Security visited the site on Friday, accompanied by the mayor of Rillieux Alexandre Vincendet.
“Investigations are underway to find the perpetrators who will have to answer for their actions. The State will act firmly”reacted the prefecture on social networks.
Already last April, a bus was intercepted during urban violence in Rillieux and then set on fire. The Rhône prefecture then deployed the CRS 83 and calm immediately returned.
