The Mazamétains relaunch in a trap match against Granada

the essential
If the SCM has raised its head after its failed start to the season, its last performance did not meet expectations. But don't worry, the Tarnais have the arguments to counter a surprising Granada team tomorrow.

Things are better on the Mazamet side. After two difficult first days, the SCM got back on track, notably signing three consecutive successes, and is preparing to host Granada tomorrow, in order to put behind them the setback conceded to the TOEC TOAC at the end of the second block (16-32).

This previous meeting nevertheless left a little taste of unfinished business. Because, and even if the Bleu et Noit report a balanced record of three victories for as many defeats, the copy rendered in Haute-Garonne was very pale. But we must not forget that the staff took advantage of this last trip before the break to give playing time to the players who were missing it. Some will see it as cause and effect. But this is the desire of the SCM technicians, to involve a group of 30 players throughout the season, as David Aliès has already confided several times.

Be realistic first

However, from a more pragmatic point of view, one observation emerges: the Mazamétan forwards are there this season and have allowed the Blue and Black to put their heads back in place, when the backs are stammering somewhat their rugby. Like the last home match, won against (19-6) where Guillaume Gautrand, Tarn winger, regretted the lack of balls cleared. Faced with a playful opponent accustomed to matches with close scores, the Tarnais will have to be pragmatic, at the risk of finding an explosive encounter against Granada.

Because the Haut-Garonnais, promoted to Fédérale 1 this season, demonstrated that they had not moved into this division to make up the numbers. However, the club has risen from its ashes, after coming close to relegation two seasons ago. This new and little-known opponent thus proves to be totally unpredictable, having experienced two defeats during the two inaugural days, before going on a series of four consecutive victories. A series which is still running and which the Mazamétains will aim to stop.
