Israel: MP calls for match to be canceled

For the fifth day of the Nations League, France welcomes Israel on November 14 at the Stade de France. A match that could be tense given the geopolitical situation and the conflict currently affecting Palestine in the Gaza region. This Friday, Louis Boyard, deputy of La France Insoumise, declared on Sud Radio that he wanted to cancel the meeting: “I want this match not to take place. Article 4 of the FIFA statutes which explains that universal human rights must be respected. When it comes to the policy of the Israeli government, we do absolutely nothing .” But the match will take place.

A huge security system put in place

In order to ensure that the match runs smoothly and that there is no overflow, a huge security system will be put in place for the occasion. The Paris police chief, Laurent Nuñez, had promised on BFM “an extremely reinforced security system which will be of a very high level, both outside and inside the stadium.” On the side of Bruno Retailleau, Minister of the Interior, one thing is certain, it is “that the match will take place“, he said on BFM TV before continuing: “We are in France and we must be able to enforce public order.” Hoping that no excesses will hinder the smooth running of the meeting.
