The firefighters of tomorrow perpetuate the memory of yesterday

COMMEMORATION. Like every 1is November, the Young Firefighters of Langres joined forces with the Langres-Auberive Committee of French Remembrance, to honor the “Dead for ”. They thus participated in the tribute ceremony and the annual quest for French Remembrance.

It is a week, to say the least, patriotic and memorial that the Langres Young Firefighters (JSP) are currently experiencing. They were in , Wednesday October 30, with the other sections of the JSP from the south of the department to visit Mont Valérien, but also to participate in the rekindling of the Flame of the Nation, under the Arc de Triomphe.

This Friday 1is November, seven of the fourteen Young Langres firefighters also took part in the ceremony paying tribute to the men and women who died for France, in the military section of the cemetery (see below). A usual participation and which is part of the partnership agreement signed between Souvenir français and the National Federation of French Firefighters.

A collection to support French Remembrance

In parallel with their participation in the ceremony honoring the “Dead for France”, the Young Langre firefighters once again contributed to the annual quest for French Remembrance. They were in the shopping mall of the Intermarché and Leclerc stores to encourage customers to make a donation, by explaining to them what their money would be used for.

The funds raised will subsequently make it possible to maintain the graves of the men and women who died for France, and the commemorative monuments. But also to finance educational projects which contribute to the duty of remembrance, thanks to visits for example, such as to Verdun, or to Colombey-les-deux-Eglises, where the JSP of Langres went this summer with their counterparts from 'Ellwangen, thanks precisely to the support of Souvenir français. Enough to help keep the memory of those who fell for France alive, so that their flame can never be extinguished.

Clement Michelot

  • The funds raised will allow Souvenir Français to maintain tombs and memorials and finance educational memorial projects.
