Without this little blue label, it is impossible to receive advertising in Dunkirk. Denise, retired, stuck this sticker on her mailbox. She is a regular at flyers. “Ultimately, I think we still like to look at what’s in advertising,” confides a resident. His neighbor adds: “Plus, I have a lot of time, I’m retired, and we enjoy it, especially my wife.”

However, fans of advertising are few in number. 30% of mailboxes display this sticker, or around 10,000 homes in Dunkirk. You still need to be aware, Marion has not received any prospectuses for two years. She regrets it: “It’s true that without that, we don’t want to go to this or that store to see what’s going on.” His neighbor does not have the same opinion. “Before this device, the mailbox was overloaded with leaflets throughout the year. It was cutting out for the children, but that was the only use to date”he points out in the TF1 1 p.m. video at the top of this article.

The end of advertising, this brand is suffering. She distributed up to 8,000 leaflets every week. It's now half as much, and you can see it in stores. There are fewer customers. “In fact, we really see a big drop in attendance because they no longer receive the advertising. They don't know when we have promotions, and they complain because they don't receive the advertising at home”explains a trader.

Businesses that are saying goodbye to paper advertising, and printing companies that are seeing their order books shrink. As here, a few kilometers from Dunkirk, thousands of leaflets are printed every day, but for two years, activity has been declining. “At the printing house, we suffered a loss of 10% of the volume of paper, which represents around 5 orders per day, or more than 1000 orders per year”deplores a manager. In , more than 600,000 tonnes of leaflets have currently been distributed.
