Need a break? This is the day of the week to really relax. It might surprise you!
Two months after the start of the school year, fatigue begins to be felt. Hectic pace at the office, plummeting temperatures, sun setting earlier and earlier… Workers are seriously starting to need a little rest. But what day to take so that the leave is really effective?
In the common imagination, working on a Monday or Friday is more advantageous, since it allows you to benefit from a long weekend. But, experts actually believe that this choice is not optimal, because it does not provide a concrete break from the stressful routine of the week. According to an expert in chronology and time management, a much wiser choice is within our reach.
Taking a break on this day, according to University of Texas professor Dawna Ballard, allows you to recharge without compromising your productivity. This interruption helps improve mental and physical well-being. The expert emphasizes that doing five days of work after a weekend imposes a pace that is too intense, which can unbalance our body. By taking a day off on Wednesday, we break the infernal pace and our body recharges its batteries even before deep fatigue sets in.
“You start the week knowing that you only have two days at this pace. There is a greater sense of calm and control,” explains the teacher. With this in mind, Wednesday can then also be seen by the employer as a means of increasing the employee’s productivity.
But be careful, you must not take advantage of this “off” day to tire yourself out even more. Even if it’s tempting, it is advisable not to catch up on all the chores you have to do at home, but rather to consider this break as a real vacation day. Going to the museum, the cinema, taking a bike ride, reading a book, are good ideas for enjoying your day. The only downside for some? Wednesday is also the day when children are not busy with school…
