LIVE – Poitiers: five injured in a shooting during a brawl involving between “400 and 600 people”

This Friday morning, the Minister of the Interior indicated that between “400 and 600 people” were involved in the brawls that occurred after the shooting. This Friday morning, on the social network X, Léonore Moncond'huy, mayor of Poitiers, denounced “a new episode of unacceptable violence”. “The youth of those involved is particularly worrying. I call for everyone’s responsibility to maintain peace in the city, and welcome the reinforced presence of security forces,” she added.

According to our information, around ten 22 caliber shell casings were found at the scene of the shooting.

Alerted to the gunshots Thursday evening, the police arrived at the restaurant on Place de la Coimbra, whose customers were targeted around 10:45 p.m.

On site, they discovered three victims injured by firearms. These were taken care of by the firefighters. One of them aged 15, shot in the head, was between life and death on Thursday evening.

A second victim, aged 16, was hit in the shoulder and a third, aged 15, in the ankle.

Two other individuals, aged 16, also injured by firearms presented themselves at the hospital shortly after. One of the young men had a wound on the head, the bullet grazed his head. The second was injured in the foot.

According to the prefect of Vienne, around 10:45 p.m., several individuals approached the restaurant “L'Otentik”, a fast food establishment serving, among other things, burgers and pizzas located at 8 Place de Coimbra, in Poitiers.

One of them, armed, fired towards the outdoor terrace of this restaurant and hit five male people, including a minor. Several were seriously injured.

Brawls followed after the shooting, between groups of individuals, some accusing others of being linked to the perpetrators. Several hundred people are involved: between “400 and 600” the Minister of the Interior mentioned this Friday.
