If you bought one of these cheeses, don't eat it. The Badoz cheese factory has recalled a batch of Mont d'Or AOP Chaud family cheeses, reports the government site Rappel Conso, Wednesday October 30.
Based in Pontarlier in Doubs, this cheese factory carried out this recall itself due to a « possible contamination » by salmonella.
These cheeses were marketed, between October 28 and 29, throughout France, in several major retail brands (Carrefour, Auchan, Cora, Leclerc, Intermarché, Super U, Promo Cash).

Mont d'Or is a soft cow's milk cheese produced in the Jura massif and in Switzerland. Particularly runny, it is generally sold in a spruce box.
What is salmonellosis?
Salmonella are bacteria. They are responsible for salmonellosis, an infectious disease which results in gastrointestinal disorders (diarrhea, vomiting), often accompanied by fever and headaches.
Symptoms generally occur between 6 and 72 hours after consuming the contaminated product. They may be more pronounced in young children, pregnant women, immunocompromised individuals and the elderly.
People who have consumed these cheeses and present these symptoms are invited to consult their doctor.
