An octogenarian lost his life after being hit head-on by a car on Highway 13 in Laval on Thursday evening.
According to preliminary information, the 82-year-old man tried for some unclear reason to cross the road section of Highway 13 on foot at kilometer 9. He was then hit by a motorist who was heading heading south.
The individual was transported to a hospital center, where he was pronounced dead in the evening, informed the spokesperson for the Sûreté du Québec, Camille Savoie.
No ambulance was called for the driver of the vehicle.
Re-enactors were sent to the scene to shed light on the circumstances of the event. The police will notably try to understand why the pedestrian was on the highway.

The accident greatly impacted traffic on Thursday evening. Two out of three lanes were closed, said the SQ public relations officer.
