Pro D2: with a breathtaking end to the match, Colomiers overthrows leader Montauban!

The 6,258 spectators at the Michel-Bendichou stadium, for what constitutes the record attendance during the season, were not mistaken. The derby between Columérins and Montalbanais kept all its promises, notably thanks to an oh-so breathtaking finale. And it's the locals, although they're off to a bad start, who win (33-29).

In this once again crucial money time, the twists and turns have multiplied. Pablo Dimcheff was the main protagonist, scoring a double after coming into play, once following a well-thrown ball (65th) which would revive his team, and a second a few moments from the end, all in mischief. The hooker extricated himself from the ruck, forgotten in the axis, to offer victory to his team in jubilation (79th). Just before, the back Ugo Pacome, both in animation and at the foot, would be decisive. Blown into the air by the former member of the house Josua Vici (already excluded during his last visit to Haute-Garonne), he was at the end of the action to conclude, and facing the posts to convert (73rd).

A series of blunders and misplays which cost the Montalbanais victory. It is also not insignificant if star gunner Jérôme Bosviel, crucial last night, pointed to the posts, to try and succeed in the defensive bonus penalty. And yet, the appearance of the match was very different…

The Columérins had not made their task easy

The first period had already been a question of realism. The Montalbanais only entered the opposing 22 meters once, and again, it was through an interception. The only mark in this first act went to Stéphane Ahmed, well placed to catch a pass from Enzo Salles (31st). Jérôme Bosviel transformed this essay and was not satisfied with it. Certainly, he will have missed a penalty and a drop in the space of a few minutes. But his length of play and his penalties allowed his team to take the lead. Above all, his successful attempt just before the break, from 55 meters, would galvanize, at least temporarily, the visitors. It’s a shame that the spirits weren’t able to cope with a suspenseful end to the match.
