Vantiva wants to go further and sets itself the objective of achieving net zero greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain by 2040.
PARIS, October 31, 2024 /PRNewswire/ — Vantiva (Euronext Paris: VANTI), a global technology leader enabling network service providers to connect consumers around the world, today announced its goal of net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050 had been validated by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). SBTi determined that Vantiva’s targets were consistent with the 1.5°C trajectory of scopes 1, 2 and 3. As a global leader in home gateways and set-top boxes, Vantiva recognizes the urgency of reducing its environmental impact and is now strengthening its commitment by aiming for net zero emissions by 2040. The company plans to submit this ambitious objective to the Science Based Targets initiative for validation.

Emissions reduction targets approved to achieve net zero:
- Global net zero goal : Vantiva is committed to reducing greenhouse gas emissions across its entire value chain to zero by 2050.
- Short term goal : Vantiva has committed to reducing absolute greenhouse gas emissions from its scopes 1 and 2 by 57% by 2027, compared to the base year 2021. Vantiva is also committed to reducing scope 3 greenhouse gas emissions linked to the use of products sold by 52% per unit sold by 2030, compared to the base year 2021. Vantiva further commits that 30 % of its suppliers, in terms of emissions covering purchased goods and services and capital goods, have science-based targets by 2027.
- Long term goal : Vantiva commits to reducing absolute emissions of Tier 1 and 2 greenhouse gases by 90% by 2050, compared to the 2021 base year. Vantiva is also committed to reducing absolute emissions of type 3 greenhouse gases by 90% within the same period.
The SBTi is a partnership between the CDP, the United Nations Global Compact (UNGC), the We Mean Business coalition, the World Resources Institute (WRI) and the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF). It encourages ambitious climate action by enabling organizations to set science-based emissions reduction targets.
