“It’s lamentable”: this match which ended in a general brawl in Haute-

The police and the Haute- district have each opened an investigation after the general brawl which broke out on Sunday October 27 at the Chadrac stadium.

“It’s unacceptable” for the director of the Haute-Loire Football District, Philippe Dumunier, “lamentable” for Corinne Bringer, mayor of Chadrac. Sunday October 27, at the final whistle of the District 2 match (tenth division) won 2-1 by the Chadrac reserve against the Val-Vert team, players and supporters invaded the field to fight it out. “A general fight broke out and blows were exchanged,” said the District Director. The newly renovated visitor locker rooms have been damaged. “One of the walls is marked with crampons and dirty with mud,” says Corinne Bringer.

It is difficult to know what caused such an outburst. According to consistent testimonies, at the end of the match, a Chadrac player was chased by several people. The entire team and the referees took refuge in the locker rooms. “They were brought to safety by the leaders and volunteers of the club who intervened,” specifies the president of the Chadrac football club, Simon Rodier. For his part, the president of FC Val-Vert, Brahim Benyakoub, explains that “this is not a club war”, but “a personal problem between our coach, who was fired last year at Chadrac, and a player from his former team.

The president of the visiting club was present at the time of the overflow. “What I saw were supporters of Val-Vert and Chadrac who went towards the locker rooms and Chadrac volunteers provided a barrier. Supporters from home (from Val-Vert, editor’s note) went to separate people in the fight. What concerned me at that time was getting my players back. » Monday October 28, the Val-Vert club “dismissed, with immediate effect, two people, including the coach of team 1, because their attitudes went against the sporting and human values of our association and of our internal regulations. What we advocate is good understanding and shared pleasure even before the sporting side. »

To our knowledge, there were no injuries. But the violent scene took place in front of children, which was particularly shocking. For the Haute-Loire Football District, “there was no red light and nothing could suggest such events,” reacts director Philippe Dumunier, who referred the matter to his disciplinary committee. An investigation should be opened to shed light on the actions committed.
