Hénon. The Armel club family is in mourning

The creator of the club, Christian Le Gagne, died at the age of 77. Originally from Broons, Christian Le Gagne started playing basketball at the age of 11 at Cob (Briochin Olympic Club), for around twenty years, before joining US Yffiniac where he worked as a coach, player and official referee.

Upon retirement, he settled in Hénon and created the Armel Basket Club in 2008. With a handful of volunteers, he threw himself into the adventure without counting, to develop the practice of basketball in the town. As president, he shaped the club in his image by transmitting values through sport such as: conviviality, team spirit, respect for others and surpassing oneself.

For several years, he trained the young Henon players and coached the senior men's team, before gradually passing the torch to the new team of volunteers.

A fervent supporter, he always liked to give his tactical advice to the Hénon teams.

In 2012, he received the gold medal from the Basketball League for his volunteer commitment. Christian Le Gagne leaves a great legacy that the leaders of the Armel Basket Club will strive to perpetuate.

A religious ceremony will take place this Thursday at 10:30 a.m. at the Hénon church.
