Rodri’s classy reaction to the Real Madrid boycott

The surprise announced during the day was therefore confirmed. Spain and Manchester City midfielder Rodri has been officially crowned the Ballon d’Or for the first time in his career. A trophy obtained at the end of an evening where controversy raged with the decision of Real Madrid to boycott the ceremony, following the defeat of Vinicius Junior, only second in the ranking even though he was announced as the big favorite.

Rodri refuses to argue

Obviously, the subject of the boycott of Real Madrid was invited into the reactions at the end of the evening but Rodri, the big winner of the evening, refused to enter into the controversy. “I’m not in other people’s heads. They made their decision, they didn’t want to be here for their reasons. I accepted, I just focus on my club, on my teammates, the people who are here, and the people who are happy to congratulate me, and that’s it. I can’t say much about it,” said the Manchester City midfielder in front of the microphones.
