The ceremony of Ballon d’Or 2024 took place this Monday, October 28 at the Théâtre du Châtelet, in Paris.
The 2024 European champion, Rodriwon his first Ballon d'Or. The Spanish midfielder shone during Euro 2024 in Germany and with his club Manchester City in the Premier League.
His compatriot Aitana Bonmatísemi-finalist of the Paris Olympics 2024retained the Women's Ballon d'Or trophy, which she had already won in 2023.
In men, Kylian Mbappé finished in sixth place and William Saliba is 24th. The French striker also finished joint top scorer alongside Harry Kane with 52 goals, sharing the Gerd Müller Trophy.
Spanish football was rewarded on numerous occasions during the ceremony. The clubs of FC Barcelona and Real Madrid were crowned best clubs, Lamine Yamal best hope and Jennifer Hermoso won the Sócrates Prize.
Two new trophies were awarded during this evening, those for the best coaches of the year for a men's and women's club.
