After the unfortunate Aqwa Power episode, President Diomaye takes matters into his own hands

The Dakar-Riyadh axis is heating up after the Aqwa Power affair. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye left Dakar this Sunday.

The Dakar-Riyadh axis is experiencing renewed dynamism after the tensions caused by the blocking of the contract with Aqwa Power, signed under the old regime. At the invitation of His Royal Highness, Crown Prince Mohammed Ben Salmane Al Saud, President Bassirou Diomaye Faye flew yesterday to Saudi Arabia, where he will stay from October 27 to 31, 2024.

According to the Senegalese Presidency, this visit will be marked by bilateral meetings with senior Saudi authorities and the participation of the Head of State in the Future Investment Initiative Forum, a global event which brings together political and economic leaders to discuss the challenges of the investment on an international scale. The Head of State will then travel to Türkiye from October 31 to November 2 for an official visit, at the invitation of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan.
