. The World Drivers' Championship standings after the Mexican Grand Prix

Starting in pole position, Carlos Sainz was only worried about one lap, this Sunday, on the Mexico circuit. Overtaken by Max Verstappen at the first corner of the first lap, the Ferrari Spaniard regained the lead of the race when the safety car returned to the pits, never to leave it and glean his fourth success in Formula 1.

Second, Lando Norris deprives the Italian team of its third double of the season (Australia, United States) while Charles Leclerc, second for a long time but at fault on the 63rd lap, completes the podium. The McLaren driver also took advantage of Max Verstappen's sixth place, penalized by 20 seconds for having sent him off the track twice, to recover 10 points on the leader of the drivers' world championship.
