This Sunday, USVL 47 welcomes the Haut-Pyrénées from Castelnau-Magnoac to the Croix Daniel in Tournon-d'Agenais. The reserves match will take place at 1:30 p.m., and that of the first at 3:15 p.m.
Last Sunday, the trip to Sarlabous of USVL 47, to meet the Entente Sportive des Baronnies, was postponed due to impassable terrain. Thus, the “Tangos” of Pont-du-Casse, victorious against Nérac, took the lead in the group at Vic-en-Bigorre and Union, who each have a match in hand.
This Sunday, the USVL will therefore play another home match against Castelnau-Magnoac at the foot of the Tournonnais bastide. This will therefore already be the fourth match on their land for the Unionists and the third in Tournon where the “blacks” have been undefeated since the start of the season. Perhaps it is better to play at Tournon, as long as the pitch supports it, and before winter, when the “Croix Daniel” pitch will have a hard time digesting the bad weather.
The pressure will be on the locals who must refuel at home before embarking on a difficult end to the year with four trips to Vic, Cazères-Le Fousseret, l'Isle-en-Dodon and Les Baronnies, plus a derby undoubtedly in Fumel against Nérac. Magnoac, for its part, is 7th in the standings with 9 points.
The Haut-Pyrénées have for the moment a mixed record with a nice improved victory against Vic-en-Bigorre, a good draw reported from Cazères-Le Fousseret but also three defeats suffered at Mauvezin, at Baronnies and especially at home against Pont- du-Casse. USVL 47 will have to respect this team and not give them the chance to express themselves. The second half played against Mauvezin a fortnight ago in Tournon must be the model for the Unionists who, fourteen against fifteen, were able to revolt to turn the game around and win against a very good Gers team.
The team leaders, Moussine Ouali, Isaac Coranson, and Pierre Carles will once again be in the spotlight of spectators. The reserves also have an important game to play against a direct competitor in the ranking. Fourth with 11 points, the USVL could overtake Magnoac, third with 14 points, if successful this Sunday and thus confirm its good start to the season.
The amalgamation between the rising juniors and those who were already there last season is taking off and should allow this group to get something at the end of the season. On the staff side, Anthony Lacroix is serving his suspension this Sunday. Florian Xifre, Thibault Arnould and Remi Vidaller will not be back this Sunday. Gaëtan Ribeiro, Maxime Call and Adam Khilal join them in the infirmary. On the other hand, we should be able to count on the return of Sabir Ouhdif.
