For many these were moments of intense emotion, unforgettable reunions strewn with anecdotes between different generations of former students. The entire village was impatiently awaiting the dates of the event planned in the premises of the old school built in 1881 and permanently closed after the commissioning of the new Claude Nougaro primary school.
Jacques and Eliane Mengelle, private collectors of an astonishing collection of blotters and old school equipment, have given their agreement to exhibit eight display cases free of charge with everything that the students of yesteryear had in their wooden kits.
A reconstituted class from the early 20th century
Old desks stored in a garage were made available by the town of Montaigut sur Save allowing the reconstruction of a classroom from the beginning of the last century where many former schoolchildren tried their hand at dictating with a pen holder and purple ink.
