Cheikh Niang’s sordid confessions in the NC Sarr affair shed light on the tragedy
In less than 48 hours, the national gendarmerie solved the murder of NC Sarr, a sex worker tragically killed in her apartment in Ngor on the night of October 15 to 16. The case was resolved thanks to rapid mobilization of the police, as reported by Le daily Libération.
As soon as the lifeless body of NC Sarr was discovered, the High Commander of the gendarmerie mobilized significant human and logistical resources to shed light on this affair. Thus, the Dakar Company, with the support of the Research Brigade, immediately launched an investigation. The same day, the gendarmes questioned several people, including two other sex workers, which made it possible to draw up a profile of the main suspect.
Cheikh Niang, nicknamed “Baye Fall”, was located in the Mbour department before being arrested in Saly, near “Safari” beach, on October 17. Questioned by plainclothes gendarmes, he finally made a full confession after being transferred to Dakar.
In his statements, Sheikh Niang recounted the events of the tragic night. After meeting NC Sarr near the Cape Verde Casino, they agreed to have two sexual encounters priced at 10,000 CFA francs. After the first report in NC Sarr’s room, they shared a cigarette. However, during the second sex, an incident occurred: Cheikh Niang’s condom burst. NC Sarr then asked the latter to leave the premises, but he refused, believing that he had paid for two “shots”.
An argument then ensued, during which Cheikh Niang admitted to having hit NC Sarr in the head before strangling her, thus ending the young woman’s life.
This tragic case raises questions about the safety of sex workers and highlights complex social issues that deserve urgent attention.
