PSG hosted Strasbourg this Saturday evening (9 p.m.) on the occasion of the 8th day of Ligue 1 2024/2025 and the Parisians logically won 4-2 thanks to goals from Mayulu, Asensio, Barcola and Lee. Paris had played a lot after the international break and faced a frankly sparkling and offensive Strasbourg team who were able to reduce the score twice even if PSG was never really in danger. Three days before the C1, Paris takes the lead in passing.

The match:
PSG kicks off and it’s really Doué on the right side, with Mayulu as a relay player close to him! Barcola attempts a first breakthrough on the left side but is well taken (2nd). Racing is far from being shy and the first corner is for the visitors but captured by Donnarumma (4th). Paris is embarrassed at the relaunch but Barcola recovers a ball very high, he gives it to Doué who sinks into the area but it is caught while he is alone in front of the goal (7th)! The corner does nothing and a counter goes, forcing Vitinha to concede another corner (8th).
Beraldo misses a complicated axial recovery and it ends in a strike from Bakwa that Donnarumma captures well (10th). PSG recovers the ball through Vitinha, he gives it to Mayulu who hits from afar, it’s superb but on the left post (12th)! The meeting is open and balanced against Racing which plays without any fear (16th). Doué overflows and crosses, Mayulu is there to cut but Santos clears in front of him in the area (17th).
PSG opens the scoring: Mayulu shifts Barcola on the left side who puts him back in the race in the area, he sends a terrible strike with his left foot to the near post (1-0, 18th)!
Barcola escapes on the left and overflows, he is at a very tight angle at 6m and hits hard but Petrovic pushes back for a corner (20th)! The corner is taken directly by Mayulu and Petrovic works to push back. In the process, Zaire-Emery sends Asensio at goal, he shoots from the right but Petrovic pushes back well (21st)! The meeting is stopped for a few minutes following a Skriniar/Emegha contact but the Parisian can resume, not immediately the Alsatian (25th).
Bakwa manages to strike after another Parisian loss of ball but Donnarumma captures (26th). Paris floats slightly but is close to hurting Racing very badly on a counter before Barcola is taken back (31st). Doué escapes on the right and center but he fails to find a partner in the area (35th). PSG has a lot of waste in its passing game and plays more in spurts than anything else (39th). RCS gains confidence and Pacho must find a new center (41st).
On a counter, Barcola manages to strike at the end of the race but it is not supported enough (41st). Asensio gives an incredible ball to Mayulu, he is all alone but decides to shoot hard from 18m, possibly thinking he is offside, and it’s over! What a wasted goal ball (42nd)! On a new rapid attack, Asensio is found in an excellent position but he misses his pass (44th). Strasbourg recovers another high ball and Santos shoots, Donnarumma lies down (45th+1). Vitinha arrives in the area but he does not choose and is caught (45th + 3). Paris is ahead at the break but Strasbourg is far from being left behind.
Strasborug made two changes from the break with Mara and Sow for Emegha and Senaya. The first reaction is Parisian and Paris doubles the bet: good rise from Beraldo who crosses, it is pushed back a first time but he crosses again for Doué who strikes, Petrovic pushes back on Asensio who scores with his knee from close range (2-0, 47th)!
Barcolé escapes on the left and gives a perfect cross to Mayulu at 6m who resumes but Petrovic makes an incredible save on his line (50th)! Strasbourg responds with a counter: Nanasi launches with a backheel Moreira who goes into the area, he dribbles past Pacho but stumbles on Donnarumma (52nd)! Doué shifts Mayulu well on the right side, he crosses perfectly at the first post for Barcola who stumbles on the goalkeeper (56th)!
While Paris has everything in hand, Bakwa overflows on the left and center, Mara appears in front of Pacho and manages to deceive Donnarumma from close range (2-1, 58th)…
Slight cold snap at the Park and Lee replaces Asensio. It’s Barcola who puts PSG back in a good position: he pulls off an exceptional sequence on the left, Lee relays him then he goes for goal but an Alsatian mows him down, penalty (63rd)! But the VAR calls Mr. Stinat and he cancels the penalty in incredible fashion as the defender touches Barcola’s left leg! But Barcola takes revenge himself in the process: Pacho throws Barcola deep, he has fun with Sow then hits the small net (3-1, 66th)!
On the commitment, Paris recovers the ball, Lee shifts Zaire-Emery who crosses into the area, Sow scores against his side (67th). Short-lived joy, the midfielder was offside and the goal was canceled (68th). Lee gives an incredible goal ball to Ruiz but he procrastinates too much and gets lost even though he was in an excellent position (69th)! PSG has counter balls but Strasbourg holds on by a miracle (72nd). Lee finds Skriniar with a header, narrowly wide but mostly offside (73rd).
Zaire-Emery sinks further into the area but Moreira pulls off an incredible comeback. On the corner, Barcola finds himself at the far post but his recovery is missed (76th). Strasbourg intercepts a restart and Moreira sends a big shot that Donnarumma repels superbly (81st). The RCS is far from giving up and continues to play hard with each attack, forcing Skriniar to intervene on Nanasi in the area (84th). Doué now plays on the left and tries his luck from a tight angle, off-target (89th).
Paris scores again: Skriniar intercepts high on the pitch and serves Mbaye on the right side, he sees the call in the area from Neves and serves it. The Portuguese advances and finds Lee within 6m who scores (4-1, 90th)!
In the process, Beraldo concedes a stupid corner, it’s shot at the near post where it’s deflected and Diong emerges at the second to score from close range (4-1, 92nd)…
