a successful match for Saint-Cyr Handball against Cesson-

Saint-Cyr: 37
Cesson- Métropole: 25

The suspense didn’t last very long. It took Saint-Cyr Handball around twenty minutes to really get the measure of their evening opponent. Then another third of the game to really widen the gap. Before coming to the end and offering his staff and his public a beautiful and indisputable victory at home (finally), this Saturday, October 19 against Cesson-Rennes.

If they managed to quickly take the advantage thanks to the power of Formeau and the qualities of M’Tima (4-3, 7e), Ibrahima Diaw’s players were unable to overcome Rennes who played with their qualities of youth and speed. Until Thévenet took the upper hand from 6 m and ensured his ball catches. Saint-Cyr then widened a first gap on the board (6-3, 8e).

The locals make the difference at the end of the first period

But Cesson continued to run a lot and the SCHB had difficulty. Ariba won his duels and the Bretons came back together (6-6, 14e). Fortunately, Dzamic was confident in front of his goal and allowed his teammates not to suffer (9-9, 15e).

Faced with a defense which had difficulty managing the local pivots, Bordier was in turn effective and Saint-Cyr got back in front (12-11, 20e).

Sanctioned twice (Robyns, Morin), Ibrahima Diaw’s players found themselves four against six. But faced with very naive young Rennais, Foucault intelligently transformed himself, and twice, into a ball stealer.

He gave new impetus to his teammates, who inflicted a 5-1 in four minutes on the visitors (17-12, 24e) and even widened the gap at the break by Robyns, Jargeac and even Lai (22-16).

Saint-Cyr stifled the young Bretons

The machine was launched. Dzamic assured, Dupont-Marion scored on a 7m throw, M’Tima scored on his wing. The Rennes youth took on the water and conceded a 6-2 in ten minutes (28-18, 40e).

Deciding to go on defense, the visitors briefly thwarted the SCHB players, who were quickly cleared by Ibrahima Diaw.

Foucault was omnipresent in attack, Bordier slipped behind the backs of his opponents in attack and remained more than active in defense. The entire Saint-Cyrian collective was in tune (32-21, 47e) and even physically dominated the game.

Only Abhervé-Gueguen offered resistance opposite. The Rennes goalkeeper limited the damage against a local team which was progressing. Robyns didn’t even force herself to find the solution, M’Tima pulled away on the counter-attack, and Dupont-Marion finished the work with a 7m throw (37-25). A very nice evening for Saint-Cyr…

Hot

Ibrahima Diaw (Saint-Cyr coach): “We widened the gap early in the match and we have never been at this score at half-time since the start of the season. It’s a successful match. There were air gaps, as usual, but it didn’t last long. We were able to get back into the match each time and remain consistent. I’m proud of the guys tonight. »
