‘No more excuses’: Hostage families and anti-government protesters invite public to demonstrate in Tel Aviv

Families of hostages held by Hamas in Gaza and anti-government activists have invited the public to join their weekly rally, demanding a ceasefire deal that would open the door to the hostages’ release.

The group ‘Kulanu Hatufim’ (“We are all hostages”) wrote in a message that was posted on X: “No more excuses! »

“Over the past twelve months, [le Premier ministre Benjamin] Netanyahu has torpedoed an agreement dozens of times to extend his rule. Too many hostages have died, others are currently undergoing serious torture and their lives are in great danger. »

“Now that Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar has been eliminated, there are no more excuses – it’s time to make a deal!” », added the group in its publication.

The rally is scheduled to begin at 7 p.m. tonight on Begin Street in Tel Aviv, while smaller demonstrations are also planned across the country.

The Forum of Families of Hostages and Missing Persons will also hold its weekly gathering nearby, on the Place des otages. The two protest movements usually come together later in the evening.

This week marks the resumption of the rally in central Tel Aviv – a rally that was suspended in late September due to restrictions imposed by the Israeli army in the wake of the escalation in Lebanon.
