At the end of a match generally dominated by the Bastiais, the Clermontois showed great defensive solidity, like an imperial Théo Guivarch in the goals, to bring back the point of the draw for Bastia (0- 0). The Rouge & Bleu therefore continue with a second match without defeat before hosting Martigues next week. In the standings, the Auvergnats remain 14th with 9 points on the clock.
In search of a second success in a row after the victory against Guingamp just before the break, the Clermontois, well in place defensively during the first quarter of an hour, let the Bastiais sterilely dominate the start of the match. We had to wait until the 18th minute of play to see the first real big opportunity with a header from Roncaglia from a corner which found the crossbar of the Clermont goalkeeper.
The Clermontois then put their foot on the ball and created good situations, notably thanks to high recoveries via Diedhiou (19th, 26th and 30th) and Baaloudj (36th). If Sporting responds from afar with Vincent (22nd) and Cissé (25th), the two teams neutralize each other at the end of a lively first act.
The second period begins like the first, with a sterile domination of the Bastiais. If they create a few dangerous situations, none will disturb the vigilance of Théo Guivarch, author of a very good performance in the Clermont cage. The best chances of this 2nd half remained on the Bastia side through Boutrah (87th) and Ariss (89th), but once again, the Clermont defense was able to respond. Final score 0-0.
