A botched affair for Altendorf and into which Niklas Tanner will throw himself headlong. The beginning of an incredible whirlwind of revelations…

Peggy Knobloch: Judicial error, botched investigation and suspicion of a pedophile act

Author of successful detective novels, Friedrich Ani wrote the screenplay for Disappeared. A fiction inspired by a real criminal case, that of Peggy Knobloch, 9 years old, kidnapped on May 7, 2001 in Lichtenberg, Bavaria. Initially, a mentally disabled Ulvi Kulac was convicted of the rape and murder of the girl, although her body was not found. Finally, in 2010, after his loved ones fought to prove his innocence and a witness’s recantation, he was cleared. It was not until 2016 that Peggy Knobloch’s remains were discovered in a forest. Even today, it is difficult to see clearly the death of the little girl, between a suspect already cited in the Maddy affair and a mother who, according to the German tabloids, would have had links with Bavarian child pornography circles.
