Seine-Maritime: a heavy goods vehicle carrying hydrocarbons catches fire, the A28 cut in both directions

A heavy goods vehicle transporting hydrocarbons caught fire at the intersection of the A28 and the A29 this Fridaynear Ménonval (Seine-Maritime). The vehicle was damaged at km54, in the Abbeville-Rouen direction, the firefighters said. As a result, the A28 motorway is cut in both directions, adds the prefecture which specifies that diversions are in place: by the D292 in the direction Rouen-Neufchâtel-en-Bray, and by the ramp between the two motorways in the direction Amiens-Rouen. At this stage, no casualties have been reported according to the SDIS, which has deployed 32 engines and more than fifty firefighters.

At 2 p.m. the fire was declared extinguished. Cooling and monitoring operations are underway.
