This morning, the Cevennes episode is over. The heavy rains have eased and are giving way to a respite. A few showers will still be possible today but nothing like yesterday. The red vigilance has been lifted but our department remains on orange “flood” vigilance. Last night, the Loire reached a peak of 4 m, just behind the flood of December 2, 2003 (4.95m). All the rivers in the department are slowly receding. The Loire Forezienne and Loire Vellave section remains in orange level, while the Gier and Loire Charolaise in yellow. The return to normal will gradually take place throughout the day today. Please note, however, that the Rivas bridge in Craintilleux, that of Balbigny and that of Montrond-les-bains are closed to traffic.
