20 points for the French prospect!

International exhibition between the Blazers and Ulm, in Portland this evening. The opportunity to see Noa Essengue – French prospect ranked 18th in the 2025 vintage by ESPN – at work against NBA opponents. A test that he passed with flying colors: 20 points (6/14 shooting, 5/6 shooting), 8 rebounds, 3 assists, 1 interception for the prodigy. Sublime!

Many NBA scouts had to meet in Portland to see Ratiopharm Ulm’s two NBA prospects. Ben Saraf (18 years old, Israeli) and especially Noa Essengue, 17 years old French. 18th in the last top 100 (ESPN) by Jonathan Givony before the 2025 Draft, the tricolor distinguished itself on both sides of the field.

What we liked: quite a few good choices in decision-making, especially on 3-point shots. Scoot Henderson even served as a target to adjust Noa’s first game-winning attempt of the evening. We validate! In percussion, he offered sharp strikes rewarded by successful passes on the free throw line. The offensive palette is very complete. At 17, this only bodes well.

I liked this read from Noa Essengue to help the three after facing Duop Reath on the perimeter pic.twitter.com/pXrzssrrp7

Defensively, he sometimes resisted the shocks due to the physical advantage of his direct opponents, but we noted some good sequences, in particular this good management of Deni Avdija on his attempted drive.

However, I was bullied and knocked out by Deni’s next drive on the next play. pic.twitter.com/tCRnY7KpvV

With Ratiopharm Ulm, Noa Essengue is playing this season in the German first division, as well as in the EuroCup. A double table which will allow him to refine his basketball between now and next June. And we will obviously be there to monitor it all!
