The King and Queen like a couple on vacation: photographers immortalize beautiful moments in

King Philippe and Queen Mathilde spent all day yesterday in for their state visit to . They even took the time to pick up some souvenirs like real tourists.

After their dinner at the Elysée, the royal couple took a few hours to visit the city of Paris and to keep some memories in the romantic capital of France. The Queen wore green, a color that makes her stand out on the famous bridges overlooking the Seine.

To close this last day in Paris: the official reception of the Belgian embassy at the Center Pompidou, which is currently hosting an exhibition on the surrealist movement.

Our sovereigns leave the French capital on Wednesday morning. The last day of their state visit to France takes them to the Château de Chantilly and to , a large northern city with which Belgium maintains special ties.

At the Château de Chantilly, it is an event closely linked to the family history of King Philippe which will retain him with the Queen, alongside French President Emmanuel Macron and his wife: the preview opening of an exhibition dedicated to Louise d’Orléans. Princess of France, she became the first Queen of the Belgians by marrying Leopold I in 1832. A little-known character, sometimes described as “forgotten queen”which nevertheless played a unique role in the history of Belgium.

The exhibition is the result of a partnership between the Condé museum and the Museums and Cultural Heritage service of the Province of Namur. After opening its doors to the general public in Chantilly this Saturday, the exhibition will also be in Namur from mid-March to mid-June. It will be at TreM.a – Museum of Ancient Arts.

The continuation of a busy program

In the middle of the day, King Philippe and Queen Mathilde are expected in Lille for a lunch offered by the mayor, Martine Aubry, in the presence, on the Belgian side, of the Brussels minister-presidents Rudi Vervoort and Flemish Matthias Diependaele as well as the secretary of State Mathieu Michel.

In the afternoon, the royal couple will visit the EuraTechnologies site, a start-up incubator and accelerator, which prides itself on being one of the largest centers of technological innovation in Europe. “This is a good example of how cross-border cooperation between Flemish, Walloon and French stakeholders in the region leads to the creation of an integrated digital ecosystem, capable of competing with major European cities”communicate Foreign Affairs on Wednesday morning.
