CAN 2025. Central African Republic – Morocco: 4/4 for the untouchable Atlas Lions… the summary

For the 4th day of CAN 2025 qualifying, Morocco performed well once again against the Central African Republic (0-4), with a double from Ben Seghir and two goals from En-Nesyri and Ezzalzouli.

23:15 – The match summary

Again for the Central Africans who lost heavily (0-4) against the imperial Moroccans, three days after losing against the same Atlas Lions (5-0). A heavy score, difficult to predict as the Bamara competed during the first 30 minutes of the match. It took a great Ben Seghir to trigger the Moroccan torpedo. He first unblocked the situation with a cross shot from the opposite side of the net (34′) before scoring a double in less than 4 minutes at the end of an almost similar situation. A sparkling first period from the Moroccan prodigy which allowed his team to take a two-goal lead at the break. The Central African nightmare was only just beginning.

From the restart, Ndobe let his foot drag in the area and conceded a penalty, perfectly converted by En-Nesyri (49′). Enough to weigh down his team which was gradually giving up. In the 66th minute, Ezzalzouli, clinical in front of goal, transformed a gem of a center from Rahimi with a clear shot from a tight angle. Morocco then managed the last 20 minutes by playing in an armchair. A resounding victory which allows these Atlas Lions to be both the best attack in the competition with 12 goals and the best defense with only one small goal conceded against Lesotho.

23:03 – One point in the standings

In this group B of qualifications for CAN 2025, Morocco (12 points) establishes its domination with a 4th victory in as many matches. In second place, Gabon (7 points), 2-0 winner of Lesotho, holds the rope for qualification while there are still slim hopes for the Central African Republic (3 points). However, we will have to win twice in the last two meetings.

22:55 – It’s over, Morocco crushes the Central African Republic! (0-4)

Only 3 days after the debacle against Morocco (5-0), the Central African Republic took on water again this evening against a Moroccan team which had complete control over this meeting. 4th consecutive victory for the Atlas Lions who secure first place in the group.

22:54 – No added time displayed (90+3′)

While the 3rd minute of added time is playing, no time has been displayed by the assistant referee.

22:51 – Morocco towards a third consecutive clean sheet (90+1′)

Regragui’s men are well on their way to signing a third consecutive clean sheet. Proof of the defensive solidity of these Atlas Lions, untouchable again this evening.

22:50 – Toropité puts on a show (90′)

The Central African number 7 places one then two dribbles in this Moroccan defense before placing himself on his good foot to slip in a powerful shot. It’s countered.

22:46 – Baboula, the good and the less good (87′)

After a splendid control of the left foot along the touchline, the Central African striker puts a sole on Belammari. A fault which allows the Moroccans to free themselves.

22:45 – Toropité present on the corner (85′)

As we approach the end of regulation time in this match, Toropité places a defensive header at the near post on a corner well taken by Belammari.

22:43 – Morocco calms down the tempo (83′)

We play at a standstill on the Moroccan side before hitting the right side of Adli, who has been very restless since he came into play. He comes here to scratch a corner.

22:40 – The last two Moroccan changes (80′)

Entry of El Kaabi in place of En-Nesyri and Belahyane in place of Aguerd, solid this evening.

22:38 – Adli attempts a deep call (78′)

At the entrance to the opposing area, the Moroccan winger is wanted but Ndobe places an unacademic tackle to counter this ball.

22:36 – Pirioua makes the mistake (77′)

In front of his surface with his back to the opposite goal, Ounahi is solid against the pressing of Pirioua who uses too much. The Moroccan environment collapses and receives a fault.

22:35 – Ndobe clean on his intervention (74′)

On the right side, Adli makes a tumble but falls on a precise Ndobe on his intervention and who regains possession of the leather.

22:32 – What a failure from Mafouta! (72′)

After superb work from Solet on the right side against Harkass, he serves Mafouta absolutely alone against Munir who has poor control of the ball. What a miss!

22:29 – Regragui makes a change (69′)

After this 4th goal, Morocco turns with the exit of the just scorer Ezzalzouli for Sahraoui. Entries of Adli and Saibari in place of Rahimi and Ben Seghir, sparkling this evening.

22:25 – And 4 for Morocco! (66′)

On a low cross from Rahimi, Ezzalzoui, completely alone, perfectly adjusts a shot from the tight angle to score his third goal for the selection. 4-0 for Morocco!

22:24 – Opportunity for the Central African Republic! (63′)

On the second corner of the match for Savoy’s men, Ngoma places a header at the far post which ends in the small outside net of Munir who attacks his defense.

22:19 – The Atlas Lions turn (61′)

Regragui’s men keep the ball across the width of the field. In the middle, En-Nesyri adjusts a pass for Ounahi who misses his control. Lembet can grab the leather.

22:18 – Change on the Central African side (58′)

Exit from Koyalipou to Toropité. Savoy looks to bring a little more movement up front while his team remains silent offensively in this second half.

22:16 – Imperial Amrabat (56′)

The midfielder annihilates a Central African counter-attack with a clean intervention at the feet before bringing out the ball. It’s well done.

22:13 – Yellow card for Rahimi (54′)

On a free kick on the left, Namnganda places his cross well in the box. En-Nesyri’s defensive header surprises his goalkeeper who catches the ball high on his line.

22:12 – Harkass covers perfectly (52′)

While Mafouta was sought in depth, Harkass anticipated and covered his back properly.

22:10 – En-Nesyri for the 3-0!

En-Nesyri takes the counter-foot from Lembet with a powerful left shot which lodges in the small net. 3-0 for Morocco!

22:09 – Penalty for Morocco! (48′)

Rahimi hits the right side to provoke a foul from Ndobe who lets his foot drag. En-Nesyri will take the penalty.

22:08 – Rahimi attempts a difficult move (47′)

In the midfield, Rahimi tries a little dive for himself full axis. Pirioua intervenes.
