The fair is gaining height

It’s up to you to go and get the moon there. From October 11 to 21, the international fair returns to the exhibition center. A 75e edition which aims to be original with the choice of the theme of space and its exhibition concocted by the Cité de l’espace of . « We wanted to discover something else, to appeal to the imagination »explains Tekmilé Kara. Through three universes (comets, moon and Mars) to explore over 1,500m², “we will learn while having fun »summarizes the director of the fair who specifies that a trip to Orlando with a visit to Cape Canaveral is up for grabs.

Despite a model that has been losing momentum for around fifteen years, with competition in particular from e-commerce, some 100,000 visitors are expected at the exhibition center that the Region is renovating. Like the Hérault Department or the Montpellier Metropolis, the communities will also communicate on their major projects (geopark, thermal renovation, biodiversity, etc.).

This year, the fair will support the fight against breast cancer. 2 euros per participant in the charity and disguised race (Sunday 20 at 10 a.m.) will be donated to Pink October. This amount will be taken directly from the entry tickets* to the fair: 8 euros full price, 6 euros web price, 4 euros for seniors on Monday 14 and only 2 euros on Friday 11 for the opening (under 16s free ). With the particularity « that a purchased ticket offers the possibility of returning every other day for free »insists Tekmilé Kara.

Commerce of course remains the leitmotif. With 500 exhibitors including 280 from Occitanie (around a hundred local artisans), the smartest will unearth the rare pearl in one of the 5 worlds: home & garden, shopping, world pavilions, better living & information as well as gastronomy. A fair with a local spirit (around fifty events including a carnival with totemic animals) but also global. In addition to the unmissable Italian, Canadian, Moroccan and Tunisian pavilions, Polynesia and its treasures (culinary delights, crafts, dances, etc.) make their appearance. In total, around twenty countries are represented.

The gourmet hall and its funfair, popular with children, remain the heart of the fair. For eleven days, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m., hall number 3 offers dishes from here and elsewhere. On the occasion of the 4 evening evenings (Saturdays 12 and 19, Tuesday 15 and Friday 18 October), the gourmet terrace will even be open until midnight (7 p.m.-9 p.m. free).
