the essential
For the majority of households, the deadline for paying their property tax is set between Tuesday October 15 and Sunday October 20. In the event of late payment, a penalty of 10% of the tax due will be levied.

If you have to pay property tax in 2024, you only have a few days left. It must be paid before “October 20 if you pay by online payment via internet, smartphone or tablet, or October 15 if you pay via another means of payment”, according to the DGFiP. The document is available on your personal space impots.gouv.fr in the “my events” or “documents” section.

A penalty for late payment

By choosing to pay this tax monthly, you may still have to pay part of the amount due. Then, an additional deduction will be made from the bank account registered with the DGFiP in November.
