A motorist told us that he had remained stopped at the entrance to the southern ring road of Caen, before the viaduct and the exit from the city center, without moving an inch for almost 35 minutes.
The blocking of the track probably lasted longer because the accident happened around 3:40 p.m., according to SDIS 14.
The accident which occurred on the N814 near Mondeville involved two cars, with five people on board. Four of them were transported to Caen University Hospital.
Five emergency vehicles were dispatched to the scene for emergency actions but also to mark and secure the intervention zone.
