The weather this week in Provence is not going to be easy. We will indeed go from a really hot day on Tuesday for mid-October to two days of light precipitation: Wednesday and Thursday. Here, in detail, is the weather forecast in the coming days.
Mardi : the day will be rather sunny with a fairly weak easterly wind which will not really have an impact on the weather. The main lesson for the forecast for this second day of the week is a sharp rise in temperatures. Up to 27°C in Aix and Cassis, and no less than 25°C in Marseille or Marignane. This represents up to 6°C above seasonal norms.
Very high minimums
Same thing for the minimums, with a mercury around 19°C while normally the thermometer does not exceed 13°C. During the night from Tuesday to Wednesday, a disturbance will spread across the entire region. This depression coming from Catalonia will affect more the west of Provence.
Wednesday : gray skies on the program with showers which will give rather low accumulations. From 5 to 10 mm in the Phocaean city; 10 cm in Aubagne or 10 to 15 mm in the Arles area. Temperatures, still high for the season, will drop on average by 2°C (23°C in Marignane) for the highest temperatures. The minimums will, however, be stable. A southeast wind of 40 to 60 km/h will blow. It will be stronger on the coast.
A potentially stormy line
THURSDAY : after a gloomy morning, a second deterioration should appear. And this with slightly more sustained rain: 10 to 15 mm across the entire region. Thunderstorms could also be present. On the wind side, the situation will be equivalent to the day before
Friday : we will not see much sun but, even if the clouds will dominate, the rains will be rare and weak a priori, according to the first forecasts which will be refined in the days to come. The wind will be light and the mercury will return to more usual heights with 21 to 22°C. More in line with fall…
