On Caradisiac, many of you love Alfa Romeo. The Italian manufacturer was absent from one of the most promising segments of the market, namely urban SUVs. Today, this is no longer the case, because the Italian firm is today presenting its Junior.
He had a somewhat complicated start to his career. It should have been called Milano and was presented as such, but following a disagreement with Stellantis and the Italian government, it was ultimately called Junior in reference to the model from the 60s and 70s.
For this first city SUV, Alfa took a well-known platform: the CMP, which is also used in the Peugeot 2008, DS 3, Opel Mokka and Jeep Avenger. Even if the mechanical elements are common, these vehicles are radically different, especially in terms of style. And in this area, the Junior ticks all the right boxes with lines combining aggression and elegance.
In the center of the front, marked by headlights with a unique light signature, fans of the brand will notice the traditional biscione grille. But that’s not all, because we also note other well-thought-out details such as the decoration on the quarter panel or the rear lighting signature. Whichever way we discover this Junior, the crush works.
Inside, we also find the gimmicks of the Italian brand such as the digital instrumentation with a cap, which reproduces the traditional shape of the barrels. Good news, the multimedia screen is not used to control the air conditioning.
On the other hand, the rear seat is limited. The trunk volume has a good capacity with 400 dm3.
Regarding the engines, it’s classic from Stellantis with a micro-hybridized version of 136 hp and another electric version of 156 hp. The originality comes from the presence of a Veloce version, also electric, with 280 hp.
