Results of municipal elections in Liège

Around 8:30 p.m., a good third of the polling stations (22 out of 63) were counted in Liège, giving a relatively reliable overview of the results in Cité ardente. And as we expected, we are seeing a progression of center-right parties… but probably not to the extent expected by the liberals. Indeed if the MR for Liège had reached 18% in 2018, the party now led by Gilles Foret recorded an increase of 2 to 3%… while Les Engagés climbed for their part to 13% (+6%).
The question of course is, to whose detriment? In a very small measure of the PS we are tempted to describe since the party of Willy Demeyer remains largely in the lead with a score, at this stage of 29.4% (-1.3%).
Within the various left-wing lists we see an overall maintenance of Vert Ardent (14.5%) and a slight increase in the PTB (18.1%, + 1.8)… Défi seems to be disappearing from the Liège shelves .
