Municipal elections: problems voting in Evere and Schaerbeek, an office closed later in Anderlecht

The municipal elections began around 8 a.m. this Sunday morning.

This Sunday, the people of Brussels will be able to choose the candidates for their municipal elections. Although the polling stations opened their doors early this morning, some problems are to be deplored. This is particularly the case in Evere and Schaerbeek, according to our colleagues at RTBF. The reason: the bags containing the USB keys to start the machines are not the right ones. These bags also contain instructions and passwords.

Therefore, it is impossible to open the polling station. Still according to the public media, this problem is linked to a distribution error on the part of the main office. To resolve this problem, we must go back around to all the schools in these two municipalities to collect the bags and give the vouchers to each polling station.

A polling station has still not opened its doors in Anderlecht

A polling station in the municipality of Anderlecht was still unable to open its doors at around 10 a.m. on Sunday morning due to technical problems, said Brussels Powers Locaux, the Brussels regional public service.

The capital experienced some problems on Sunday morning at the start of voting. In total, twelve polling stations experienced various technical problems, some of which could be resolved.
In Auderghem, Evere, Jette, Forest, Schaerbeek, Molenbeek and Uccle, it is a single office which each time posed a problem. In Berchem-Sainte-Agathe, these are four offices which have caused some problems. They have all been resolved in the meantime.

Brussels Powers did not specify the nature of the problems encountered.
