“This establishment will have catastrophic consequences”: a day of mobilization against the water bottling plant project in Montagnac

This Sunday, October 13, members of the Veille au grain association, which campaigns against the project to exploit the Castillonne drilling in Montagnac, by the Compagnie Générale des Eaux de Source, are organizing a day of mobilization at the de la Vallongue , in the town of Pinet.

The Veille au grain association maintains the pressure and organizes a day of mobilization against the proposed spring water bottling plant in the town of Montagnac.
A collective of citizens has been fighting for months to denounce this project around the Castillonne drilling which must be sold by the municipality to the industrial Compagnie Générale des Eaux de Source (Cristaline, Saint-Yorre, etc.).

“Privatize the resource”

“This establishment will have catastrophic consequences in terms of destruction of local jobs (viticulture, tourism) and environmental impact (land artificialization, pollution of the Thau pond watershed, incessant rotation of trucks on a daily basis, plastic production …)”detail the members of the association. “In the midst of a period of water scarcity, the municipality wants to privatize this resource through an ecocidal predation project. All over , actions are taking place to preserve water and keep it in the general interest”they still argue.
