[Chutes de hauteur] The OPPBTP publishes a guide targeting small construction sites

Loss of balance on a ladder, scaffolding, hopper or even a roof, slipping, discomfort or even failure of a support or PPE (personal protective equipment)… Falls from height are among the most common risks. common among construction professionals. And “particularly on small projects in private homes”warns the OPPBTP.

No trade body is spared: masons, carpenters, roofers, facade workers and waterproofers first and foremost, but also plasterers, electricians among others. Published since the end of September 2024, the new practical guide developed by the prevention organization has a clear objective: “Helping professionals anticipate the main fall risk situations”.

Note that according to data from the Ministry of Labor and Employment updated at the end of 2023, “the construction sector is the only sector of activity in which the proportion of falls from height leading to work stoppage of four days or more is almost identical to that of falls from the same level. For other sectors, the proportion is half as much”.
