The release of the film “Niki” by Céline Salette, this past Wednesday, October 9, dedicated to the figure of the visual artist Niki de Saint Phalle, invites us to delve into the representations of women artists in cinema.

Their presence in the cinema is initially timid, approaching women through their couples as in “Les Amants de Montparnasse”, highlighting Jeanne Hébuterne with Amadeo Modigliani. Among them, Camille Claudel, Frida Kahlo, Maud Lewis, Margaret Keane who will see their lives transcribed on film.
