Too late for the elections, but local police officers find ex-Miss Julie Taton in her new apartment in Bergen

Ex-Miss Belgium Julie Taton can then be domiciled in Mons. The police were eventually able to determine that Taton lives in the Walloon municipality. Walloon media report this. But that is too late for the local elections.

At 6:30 a.m. Wednesday morning, police were at Taton’s door. That for a visit to check that the ex-miss Belgium actually lives in the apartment. Such a check by the local police officer is necessary to obtain a new residential address. Taton needed this official change of address to participate in the local elections. Until recently she lived in Lasne in Walloon Brabant. But MR chairman Georges-Louis Bouchez had asked her to be on his Mons and Mieux list for the local elections. For that she had to move and she did. But after several attempts, police were unable to find Taton at the apartment, so her change of address was denied.

Taton appealed, but the city council ruled that the decision was correct. The discussion also went to the summary proceedings judge, but he rejected Taton’s claim. The appeals court ultimately ruled that Taton’s appeal against the city of Bergen was admissible, but unfounded.

Her address change will now be official, but she is too late to participate in the local elections in Bergen. Second place on Taton’s list therefore went to Nora (30), presenter and journalist at the local broadcaster in Bergen.

The former Miss Belgium confirms that she wants to stay in Mons despite the setback. She has already enrolled her children in a school in the municipality and she continues her search for a new family home. In the meantime, she is staying in an apartment owned by Georges-Louis Bouchez. “It doesn’t change my decision. I prepare my family, I keep going back and forth to prepare everything, my children have tested their school several times and everything is going well,” she told last month The Last Hour.

“I am frustrated that I am not on the lists, but I will continue on my path, be supportive and present for my running mates, wear the colors of my party and try to make things happen here in Bergen.” As a consolation prize, Mons en Mieux offered her the position of party spokesperson.
