Aurélie Trouvé (LFI) becomes president of the Economic Affairs Committee against a backdrop of dissension between Macronie and LR – Libération

The rebellious MP was elected internally this Wednesday, October 9 when it was rather expected that the position would remain in the hands of the presidential camp. The result of a disagreement between the right and the Macronists.

Small murders between (alleged) friends… Against a backdrop of disagreement between the macronie and its allies The Republicans (LR), the left has wrested the presidency of one of the eight permanent commissions of the National Assembly from the presidential camp. LFI MP Aurélie Trouvé was elected head of the Economic Affairs Committee this Wednesday, October 9. The presidency, left vacant by the entry into the government of Antoine Armand, Minister of the Economy, nevertheless seemed to be able to go to the deputy Stéphane Travert (Together for the Republic, the name of Renaissance in the Assembly).

It must be said that the results of the third round were close: the elected representative from Seine-Saint-Denis won in the third round by 27 votes, against 25 for Stéphane Travert, according to parliamentary sources. The National Rally candidate, Frédéric Falcon, gathered 16. “We maintained our candidacy. We have no better consideration for Stéphane Travert than for Aurélie Trouvé.sweeps the RN deputy Nicolas Meizonnet to Release.

It is above all the tensions between the central bloc and the right, irritated at not having obtained an agreement for the two other chairs of committees also elected this Wednesday – foreign affairs and social affairs, which are in question. Candidate, Julien Dive (LR) withdrew in the third round. The deputies from his camp were divided between blank votes, one vote for Jean-Luc Bourgeaux (related to the Republican Right, the new name of the LR group) and one vote for Aurélie Trouvé.

Attal and Wauquiez at loggerheads

The surprise victory of the LFI MP annoyed the Macronist camp and the right, each passing the responsibility for the election to each other. To his troops, Gabriel Attal, the boss of the EPR group, deplored in an internal message the “blackmail” by Laurent Wauquiez, leader of LR deputies. “Today, Laurent Wauquiez’s group has chosen to favor the election of the rebellious Aurélie Trouvé to the detriment of our colleague Stéphane Travert”writes Attal, saying to himself “revolted and deeply sorry” for his beaten colleague.

Near LibéWauquiez’s entourage assumes, and returns the boomerang: “EPR refused any agreement. QED.” Of the eight permanent commissions that the Palais-Bourbon has, Wauquiez hoped to obtain two for his troops. “We refused to enter into the pressures and device schemes”brushed aside Attal, in his message sent to the EPR deputies. At LR, Wauquiez’s tactics are already raising eyebrows. “This is our leader’s strategy. We followed the instructions”said Julien Dive in the corridors of the Assembly, adding that no one from EPR came to negotiate with him before the election of Trouvé in the third round.
