What caught the attention

Québec – Today, Quebec police officers accompanied by students from the CNDF, from the police technical program, carried out a mechanical and compliance verification operation. Zone911 will follow up on this operation.

Québec – 2 p.m. – Accident on the road to Bravoure, Val-Bélair sector, near Montolieu. For unknown reasons, there was a head-on collision between two vehicles. One person suffered injuries and another refused transport to the hospital. The situation caused a serious traffic jam.

Stoneham – around 2 p.m., on Route 175, just before arriving at the exit for Stoneham, km 56, a vehicle ended up in the ditch following a loss of control. There would have been no injuries.

Québec – Around 3:45 p.m., a fire broke out in a vehicle moving on Grande-Allée at the intersection of Général de Montcalm, just opposite the Hotel Le Concorde. Firefighters were needed to bring the flames under control.

Québec – Around 4:30 p.m., on Lloyd-Welch Boulevard, for an unknown reason, a vehicle ended up in the ditch. Braking marks on the roadway were noted. Traffic was slightly disrupted. There would have been no injuries.

Montreal – Arrest of seven minors linked to a criminal group in Saint-Léonard

According to the Montreal City Police Service (SPVM), seven minors aged 14 to 17 linked to a criminal group based in Saint-Léonard were arrested on October 3, following an investigation by SPVM. The suspects are said to have illegally occupied a vacant commercial premises on rue Jean-Talon Est and used it as a hiding place.

Despite their young age, the arrested suspects are believed to be linked to a group from Saint-Léonard involved in numerous violent crimes. Its members are notably responsible for robberies, firearms discharges, arson and extortion.

Sherbrooke police confirm a death following an accident with an electric scooter.

The police department confirmed today that the man who suffered serious injuries when he fell while driving his electric scooter unfortunately died a few days after the event.

The accident occurred on September 22.

The Criminal Investigation Division has established that no other vehicle was involved in the event and no criminal action was taken. It was a fall that caused the injuries and his subsequent death.

Investigators are continuing their work to establish the precise causes that could have caused the fall. The coroner is also participating in the investigation.

Drug trafficking: the SPVM arrests five suspects and seizes 36 kg of cocaine

The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) announced today that it made, on October 2 and 4, five arrests of suspects during a two-phase operation aimed at dismantling a drug trafficking network operating mainly in the west of Montreal.

Searches led to the seizure of 36 kilograms of cocaine, $236,305 in cash and three watches worth $65,000.

Four of the five suspects, aged 58, 29, 36 and 31, were arrested on October 2, 2024 in different locations: Pointe-Claire, downtown and Town of Mount Royal.

As for the fifth suspect, who is 32 years old, he was arrested on October 4, 2024, in Anjou.
