These torrential rains caused unusual flooding, even in symbolic places like the National Assembly. Water infiltrated the Chaban-Delmas building, according to testimonies from deputies and collaborators relayed on social networks, illustrating the seriousness of the bad weather that affected the city. Parisian transport was also disrupted, with several metro stations flooded. The Saint-Lazare station, one of the busiest in the capital, saw its corridors invaded by water, as did the Odéon station in the 6th arrondissement. The rain continued until midnight, when it finally stopped.

Faced with this situation, Paris was placed on orange alert for “rain-flood” and on yellow alert for “floods”. The city’s streets were submerged by water, greatly complicating traffic. In Seine-et-, red vigilance was activated due to a high risk of flooding on the Grand Morin river, a sub-tributary of the Seine, with a flood peak expected in the afternoon. As a result, bad weather led to the suspension of school transport in Seine-et-Marne for Thursday October 10. In addition, 29 departments were placed on orange vigilance, including 20 for “rain-flood” and eight for “wind”.
