In a case of drug trafficking and attempted murder, twelve suspects were arrested on Tuesday October 8, confirms the Pau prosecutor’s office following a information revealed by our colleagues from the Actu17 site. Several people were arrested near Tarbes but also in Landes and Gironde. The deputy public prosecutor of Pau, Orlane Yaouanq, specifies that this is a attempted murder that occurred in July 2024 in Tarbes against a backdrop of drug trafficking.
A strangulation attempt
Arrests took place mainly in Tarbes and in Aureilhan and Sarrouilles, but also in the Basque Country in Urrugne, in the Landes in Labenne and in Gironde north of Bordeaux. Since Tuesday morning, four women and eight men are in police custody, young adults according to the Pau public prosecutor’s office, which specifies that one of them would be at the head of this network. This young man is known to the courts for acts related to drugs but with few mentions on his criminal record.
According to our sources close to the case, in this case there was an attempted throat slitting. The deputy public prosecutor of Pau does not wish to communicate on this point but explains that this is drug trafficking where some of the suspects are likely to have sought to intimidate other protagonists with weaponseither to continue trafficking or for them to repay debts. Searches were carried out, the police found 10,000 euros and five kilos of cannabis.
